The Diabetes Wellness Center (DWC) offers comprehensive diabetes services tailored to meet the needs of the individual patient.
Housed within the DWC is a fitness center staffed with trained fitness assistants ready to help you design a fitness program to suite your needs. THe fitness center welcomes patients, employees, and community members to exercise at your own pace in a climate controlled environment. Our Community Diabetes Education program is carried out by four Registered Nurses; three are Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) and a dietician. Their focuses are on:
Raising awareness of type 2 diabetes, including causes, risk factors, and signs/symptoms.
Type 2 Diabetes Prevention education across the life span with special emphasis on Head Sr tart students and their parents, third grade students, fifth grade students (featuring the "Salad Sisters"), and adults.
