We are growing to better serve you….
The Choctaw Nation Health Services system is growing to better serve the needs of our public and patients. The Health Care Center in Talihina heading up the expansion is preparing to add a total of five new beds to the OB clinic. The new rooms will allow new mothers to remain in the birthing room longer allowing for a healthier recovery. The nursery will be relocated, along with several staff areas. The new expansion will also feature a covered awning allowing patient drop off and pick-up.
The registration desks along with referred care at the Health Care Center are also receiving a face lift. Additional staff has been added in referred care, and once the expansion is finalized the staff and department will be relocated.
We are also pleased to announce recent opening of the Talihina Community Clinic on August 15th, 2011. The clinic will be open to the public and will not require a C.D.I.B. card. Services will be performed and billed to the patients insurance accordingly.
The clinic will also include a optometry branch open only to C.D.I.B. registered Native Americans. The lab will feature state of the art edging equipment. This equipment will allow staff to custom fit lenses to frames, alleviating the need to wait on lens fitting.
The Health Services system has also added a 22,000 square foot storage facility at the Talihina Health Care Center. The storage unit will be utilized to store equipment. It features additional staffing possibilities with several climate controlled offices.
The pharmacy drive thru in Talihina is also receiving a new awning which will allow patients to safely pick up their medicine during bad weather.
We are currently in the process of implementing an employee only clinic in Durant. No projected opening date has been established at this point.
